High Quality ECE Initiative in Philadelphia

Black Wildflowers Fund is proud to launch a new grant program that invests in the future of high-quality early childhood education programs in Philadelphia.

Graciously supported by The Penn Foundation, this cohort initiative ensures more local early learning centers can transition from STAR 2 to STAR 4, the highest rating in Pennsylvania’s quality tier system. This strategic program provides the coaching, administrative support & resources needed to move local programs from foundational care to educational excellence while establishing authentic Montessori practices.

By investing in these environments designed for optimal learning, this program is creating 150 new, high-quality early childhood seats across the greater Philadelphia
area—deepening a collective commitment to ensuring more children have access to research-backed curricula & stable, well-supported teaching teams.
